Google Friend Connect for Your Blog and Website: Updated

If you aren’t sure what Google Friend Connect is or you never heard about the announcement you can read an older post here. In fact I would appreciate if you signed in. It uses open social so you can log in using a variety of different methods. What better way to allow users to interact with your site?

Well now according to Tech Crunch Google has updated the API to make it even easier to use. What this means for you an even wider range of great tools available. This could really revolutionize how websites function and behave. I would even look for more integration with other applications such as Gmail or even the new Google Voice. What if they could call you by being your friend of the site? If you didn’t hear about Google Voice check out this earlier post!

It sucks that GFC (Friend Connect not Google Friend Chicken) and the new Facebook API won’t get along. For now you see the problem if you go to my site they are sort of butting heads. But it’s the only way to integrate both and I think it’s important to reach every social networking platform at this time. Competition is a good thing though and it will certainly see a race to whoever can make the coolest applications out of these.
