Google has rolled out some new features for Gmail recently. I’m not sure if you have to be using their “labs” application in order to see these new features or if it’s a Gmail wide release. Sometimes they sort of beta test things for a while or a long while before they release it fully to the public and vice versa sometimes they release stuff to the public to beta test to all eternity like Gmail itself. ( DOH!!)
One of the new features is adding a search function for Google within Gmail and that makes sense since you might be working in one platform and want to use the functions of another.
There is also a new search suggest feature that seems rather useful.
Also here’s a top ten list of Google products in case you were wondering which are the most popular.

(In case you do not agree with something I said or feel that my blog or my beliefs could be construed as libelous I hereby declare that my entire blog is meant as a joke. I consider myself to be a comedian and everything I say or have said should be considered comedy. I want nothing I say to be taken seriously and if you do take it seriously take a break. But for anyone who wants to sue me everything I said or say is meant purely as satire. The only thing that is not a joke is this disclaimer.)

If you use Gmail and probably a lot of you do, you might not have noticed that they rolled out a pretty cool new feature that gives offline access to Gmail. It works by basically retaining a snippet but it’s pretty useful as far as I am concerned. I switched as soon as they activated it on my account. If you are interested in doing this you have to manually set the feature. Just go to settings and then see the new offline tab. Just click it and then you have to install Google “Gears” which is another new thing that basically adds offline functionality to Gmail and a few other things.

Gmail has added new features such as voice and video chatting. The coolest thing is that it works through your browser and works in a variety of browsers as well. So far the article that I am writing about was unable to try any of the features as Google has not sent the update to their accounts yet. It will probably arrive in waves. This might be for a variety of reasons and I bet in case it is super buggy, to move slowly as to not create a panic if the features don’t work.
This has a lot of networking potential for a variety of different businesses. I know networking meetings has always been a problem and this might actually work better for some people. I don’t know if this is only 1-1 capable or if you can host a meeting. It might be something added later. This also has potential as a way to directly communicate long distance with a client or customer. Webcams have definitely become more mainstream.
