Hit by the “Storm” but Feel Like it was Hailing?

Ok maybe that title doesn’t make much sense. But after all the anticipation surrounding the release of the Blackberry Storm and then the uproar over the number of bugs, it probably did feel like some crappy weather for you. Even more so considering the price you paid to be one of the first to own this new toy.
Well there might be help and hope for you with a new upgrade to the OS(operating system) According to this story the phone “now behaves more responsively, quickly and smoothly with an operating system upgrade from OS 4.7.0.65 to OS 4.7.0.75”
Your phone is probably telling you about the upgrade now but a word of warning:
“There is no charge for the upgrade — as there shouldn’t be. However, Verizon Wireless does say that network charges may apply for the airtime minutes needed to do the upgrade. It can take up to two hours, the company says, although it took me about 15 minutes to go through the download set-up steps, then a half-hour for the actual download.”
You would think with so much at stake that the least they could do is offer a truly free upgrade by forgiving the minutes it takes to download the update.
Another warning:
“During the time the phone is being upgraded, you will be unable to use it at all, even for an emergency call. So you may want to consider using the “schedule” feature Verizon Wireless offers to do it at a time of your choosing, when you absolutely don’t need to use the phone, see e-mail or Web surf.”
I guess I wouldn’t want to be out of a phone for that long either. 30 minutes or two hours, either way thats just too long!
Hopefully the update works for you and your phone.
