I would for safety’s sake uninstall AVG immediately. There is another free alternative called Avira which I highly recommend. It is rated much more highly than AVG. You can see a comparison here of all the major Anti-virus softwares. You can download Avira here.
Although AVG is a decent free software it is not the best out there anymore and since AVG is causing a serious risk to your computer I would just take a look at a better solution. I have used Avira for about a year now and it has consistently been ranked the #1 beating out every other company. On top of that it is free.
