Growing Your Blog Through Your Readers?
Posted on May 2nd, 2009 No commentsThere is a very good article over at Tech Crunch that I think every blogger should read if they are interested in having more readers, not only that there are some great suggestions on how your readers can get more out of your blog and how you can get more out of them. This is a very interesting read with some great ideas here.
Some of the things that stick out to me are of course analytics because without knowing who is reading your blog and what it’s hard to get direction and speaking of direction some other great ideas are to poll your readers and also to get feedback from them in a variety of other ways. Another interesting suggestion is to be a good commenter on other blogs. Why not? If you make valuable comments it only goes to show that you probably can write a pretty good blog as well. This is something that I have always stressed as well. When I first started blogging I only saw the value in potential clients or customers reading what I wrote but I quickly realized that it might be my fellow agents and peers comments that are even more valuable. Why? Because it serves to validate what it is I am saying! If others in my industry agree with what I say then it certainly makes me out to be the pro!

When you are first starting to search for homes you probably started that search on the Internet. Almost every website that is connected to our local MLS lets you search for listings in our area but one thing to understand is that it is certainly easy to do, but the data is sometimes difficult to manage. One of the problems that comes about is when Agents try to list the home and it falls on the border of a certain area. You see our MLS is set up for a variety of different areas, the city of Eau Claire is actually divided into parts, North, South and West. You can already see the problem since there isn’t an East, now the Agent has to decide what area to put the home into. Is it on the North or South or is it on the border of Altoona? What if its in Altoona but Eau Claire schools? Sometimes a home is in another county such as Chippewa but still in Eau Claire schools! If that isn’t confusing I don’t know what is. The point is that without knowing all these different subtleties, sometimes it can be very difficult to know for sure that you have a complete list of homes available to choose from. Thats why I set up each one of my clients with a personalized search that helps to ensure that we see every listing that is available. The moment a new listing comes on to the market we both get an email. I am very skilled at setting these searches up and manipulating the results. I am aware of all the nuances involved and try to avoid not seeing a listing.

Eau Claire Wisconsin Real Estate and Ice Skating

I bet you are wondering what the heck these two things have in common. Well I was sitting here today finishing up a few things for the week like I usually do on Sundays and while flipping through channels somehow ice skating was on. Well before I could hit the remote to find what I was looking for I was listening to the announcer. This is approximately what he said:
You couldn’t find a better time to invest in real estate. It really is the perfect opportunity to make an investment, you just cant go wrong. Speaking of real estate that girl is running out of real estate right now., she nearly hit that wall!
I thought it was funny that on a program like this that they would be mentioning real estate. I don’t know where the guy was getting his investment advice but he really was right on the money. There is no better time to invest in real estate. There is probably no better opportunity for investment either. Real estate can yield a huge return in just a few short years.
